Hi there, I‘m Rebecca, certified mat Pilates Teacher. I am also a certified Stretch Coach, Breath Coach, and Nutritional Therapist.
I discovered Pilates several years ago and haven't looked back since. Through my Pilates practice I have become stronger, fitter and more physically capable than ever before, whilst also cultivating the mind-body connection. I decided to train as a Pilates Teacher in order to teach others the amazing benefits of this practice.
I also teach Stretch Classes to improve mobility and flexibility. These classes involve holding long, passive stretches in order to improve mobility and range of motion. This can be extremely beneficial as a supplementary exercise practice.
My mission is to empower clients to love movement.
Currently I teach Group and 1:1 Pilates Classes, and Stretch Classes in North Lanarkshire, Glasgow, and surrounding areas of Scotland.

Pilates is a holistic exercise system designed to elongate, strengthen and restore the body to balance. It is much more than building a "strong core" or "perfect posture". It is a whole body workout, in my classes most exercises are performed on the mat, sometimes involving small equipment.
Pilates is effective at addressing underlying structural imbalances which can hinder movement and cause pain.
The whole body is considered, muscles are lengthened and strengthened improving posture & overall fitness. There is also a focus on breath, and mind-body connection.

Stretch classes are mat based, targeted mobility training that help with stiff back, locked up hips, tight hamstrings and more. Classes involve a flow of exercises that hold long, passive stretches.
The Three Principles:
Wet Noodle
Muscles stretch best when relaxed so when you train for flexibility you attempt to relax as much as possible into the stretch. Think "wet noodle"!
Breathing
4:8 breathing is practised throughout. Inhaling through the nose for a count of 4, and out through the mouth for a count of 8. This helps to turn off the body's stretch reflex, stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system and relieve muscle tension.
Hold Time
Time under passive tension is practised, therefore, the stretches are timed. Typical hold times are 2-5 minutes.
